Water Rationing

 Water rationing will continue in Byron for 2026. City officials closely monitor the amount of water that is pumped out of the aquifer that provides the city’s water. To stay within regulatory limits, water users will need to continue to follow city guidelines for watering their landscaping.  

The city uses an ‘odd and even sprinkling plan. On odd days, those with addresses that are odd numbers can water outside and on even days, those in even-numbered homes can water their landscaping. No one should water from noon to 6 p.m. when evaporation is at its highest. All water users are urged to conserve in any way they can.
