Water Rationing

Water rationing will continue in Byron for 2024. City officials closely monitor the amount of water that is pumped out of the aquifer that provides the city’s water. To stay within regulatory limits, water users will need to continue to follow city guidelines for watering their landscaping.  The city uses an ‘odd and even sprinkling plan.’ You should only water outside every other day and the day is based on your address being odd or even. On odd days, those with addresses that are odd numbers can water outside and on even days, those in even-numbered homes can water their landscaping. No one should water from noon until 6 p.m. when the weather gets hot because the evaporation rate is too high. All water users are urged to conserve in any way they can.
