All cities in MN are given the responsibility to follow and enforce City Code. The intent is to maintain high community standards and address violations as they arise. Through enforcement of the City Code and with community awareness and involvement, Byron is able to continue to be a place everyone feels proud to call home.

  • Some items that are not include in City Code which the city does not have ‘jurisdiction’ over are:
    • Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&R) violations - Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions, commonly called CC&Rs, are a set of rules established by a developer or homeowners association that govern residences in a particular neighborhood or condominium. CC&Rs may put restrictions on parking, paint colors, noise-levels, fences and pets, for example. CC&Rs are usually attached to the title of a property and should be reviewed during the home purchase process.
    • Private disputes between neighbors.
    • Situations which are not specifically addressed in the Byron Municipal Code.
    • Emergency situations that threaten human life or property and demand immediate attention, call 911.
