A seven member school board administers the public school system. Board members are elected annually for three-year overlaping terms and are empowered by statute to make policy, adopt budgets, levy taxes and control debt. The school board holds monthly meetings and are usually held in the high school multi-purpose room. Meeting notices and board minutes are published in the Byron Review.
Byron PTO (Byron Parent Teacher Organization), was established to unite home, school and community on behalf of the Byron youth. Meetings are announced on the school website.
COMMUNITY EDUCATION/EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
Byron Community Education offers classes from prenatal through senior citizen. Class offerings are announced three times a year; Fall, Winter and Summer. Their brochures are mailed to all residents of the Community and made available in local businesses or at each school. Call 775-2336 for more information.
Community Education/Early Childhood Education, a parent cooperative and a privately owned preschool are available in Byron.
